What is PIN and PUK?
PIN is a four digit number that is used to lock the mobile handset. The default number to activate the PIN is 0000. Once activated, user can change the number to another 4 digit number. In case PIN is activated, every time the user turns the handset off and on, he/she should enter the PIN number.
Warning on using PIN
If PIN is activated and you enter it wrong for three times, your SIM would be locked and you will be asked PUK. PUK is a 8 digit number that is used to unblock your PIN. After entering PUK, your handsets will asks for the new PIN number. You should enter it twice to save the new PIN number. However, if you enter the wrong PUK for 10 times, you will lose your SIM card and will be required to pay the (51500 Rials)of a new SIM cart.
Important:
Taliya strongly recommends that you do not activate the PIN on your handset. If you have locked your PIN by accident do not make any attempts to unlock it. Instead call 8173 from a fixed line to speak to a Customer Service Representative. Our Customer Service representative will instruct you on how to use PUK to unblock your PIN..
